This was the state of the old store before is was restored to is former glory. the project was carried out by the Sapelo Island Birdhouses.

The restored store and landmark on Sapelo Island known as B J Confectionary will provide nice comfortable vacation lodging on the island for visitors as well as being the future home for the Museum of the Hogg Hammock community. A detail history of the store and its role in the community will be posted later.
